TDP, YSRCP activists clash in Prakasam district

Martur ( Prakasam district) Dec 28, 2014: TDP and YSRCP activists clashed with each other today at Gollapally village of Martur Mandalam in Prakasam district resulting in mild tension in the area. The clash took place when Addanki YSRCP MLA Gottipati Ravikumar held a demonstration along with his followers protesting the visit of the Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma who came to inspect the water levels in the Sagar canal. Ravikumar held the demonstration saying water level in the Sagar canal was very low and sufficient water was not flowing in. YSRCP activists also tried to submit a memorandum on the issue to the visiting Minister. The TDP activists objected to YSRCP men submitting memorandum to the Minister and prevented them from doing so. This has resulted in a clash between the two groups in the presence of the visiting Minister forcing police to interfere to restore order.
