Jagan govt to sell lands to develop capital city
Amaravathi, June 26: The Andhra Pradesh government decided to sell lands in the capital city Amaravathi. The cash strapped government took the decision to raise funds for the development works of the capital city after the banks are unwilling to sanction loans.
Steps are being taken to sell 600 acres. In the first phase, 248.34 acres will be put for sale with a minimum rate of Rs 10 crore per acre. With this sale, the government is planning to accrue Rs 2,480 crore. The government is planning to sell 50 acres per annum.
The Municipal department issued orders on June 6 permitting CRDA Commissioner to sell 15 acres at two places through e-auction. Since the GO was not entered on e-gazette portal, information came late into light.
According to this order, 10 acres (two plots of five acres each) near Navuluru village beside Kaja – Gundugolanu bypass road; four acres (two plots of two acres each) near Pichukalapalem village beside Seed access road are up for sale.
Municipal Administration special general secretary Srilakshmi suggested that CRDA Commissioner should open an account and must deposit the amount collected through the sale of the lands and to take up capital city development works with the funds.
A committee was set up to fix minimum price of the lands with Guntur District Collector as the chairman. RDO concerned, district registrar and APRSCL MD will be the members.
