Streetscaping, parking & pedestrian facilities at Hyderabad Metro Stations

Hyderabad, May.6: Hyderabad Metro Rail project is being built as a ‘Transit+’ urban rejuvenation system with last mile connectivity for a seamless travel providing comfort, convenience and safety for women, children, senior citizens and differently abled people.

 Once complete, the project will transform the city into one of the most preferred global cities, boosting economic growth and attracting investments, jobs and talent, contributing to the vision of Telangana Chief Minister  K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Multi-modal connectivity by integrating Metro Rail stations with existing Rail terminals, MMTS stations, Bus depots and “Merry go round” feeder buses between Metro Rail stations and colonies on the same ticket, last mile connectivity using non-motorised transport like bicycles and so on make the Hyderabad Metro project unique, stated MD, HMRL NVS Reddy.
 Metro Rail stations will be equipped with electric vehicles (EVs) for feeder trips, MRT / carpool and short trips. Adequate network of EV stations will be made available at the Metro Rail stations with facilities for charging the vehicles, replacing used batteries with recharged batteries etc. EVs and feeder buses will ply from inner residential areas to Metro stations and will discourage use of personal vehicles for decongestion at road level, he added.
