China Plans 30 Space Missions In 2017

Beijing: China is planning a massive space program in 2017. China Aerospace Science & Technology Corporation said that it is going to conduct 30 space launch missions in this year.

China News Service reported that 'Long March-5' and 'Long March-7' rockets might be used to have a successful launch of these space missions.

Long March-5 is registered as China’s largest carrier rocket, which was successfully tested in November. Observers opine that this would surely pave the way for the construction of space station.

Director General of the Long March-5 program, Wang Yu, said that 2017 would stand as a critical year for the country's new generation of carrier rockets. He also told that Long March-5 rockets would carry prestigious Chang’e-5 probe to space.

Chang’e-5 probe would land on Moon surface, collect the samples and comeback to Earth.

China conducted 19 launch missions in 2015 and 22 missions in 2016.
