Subramanian Swamy Urges Imposition of President's Rule In Bengal
New Delhi: BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) senior leader and RajyaSabha MP Subramanian Swamy today urged the Government of India to take stringent action against the lawlessness incident which took place in Kolkata on Tuesday, where TMC(Trinamool Congress) student wing vandalized the BJP's state office.
He urged the central government that it can even impose President's Rule by invoking Article 256.
Speaking to media he told, "I would recommend center government is that under Article 256 it can send a direction to Bengal government asking to bring law and order under control otherwise the President's rule may be imposed with Article 256 itself."
He further added that GOI can also appoint district magistrates of senior rank through an ordinance in all districts of the State, these district magistrates can issue warrants against those involved in any kind of violent acts.
Following the TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay's arrest in association with Rose Valley chit-fund scam, TMC students wing attacked the BJP Office in Kolkata. A few hours later they also attacked BJP leader Krishna Bhattacharya's house also.
