J.S.Khehar To Be Next CJI
New Delhi: Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar, will be sworn in as next Chief Justice of India on January 4th 2017. He will hold the post for a tenure of 7 months till 27th August 2017. He is one among the five judge constitution bench of SC, which has struck down the renowned NJAC Act. Today, CJI T S Thakur wrote a letter recommending Justice J.S.Khehar as his successor. Justice Khehar will stand as the first CJI from Sikh community. Along with struck down of NJAC Act, Justice khehar also part of other benches which dealt famous cases like sending jail to Sahara chief Subrata Roy, setting aside President’s Rule in Arunachal Pradesh etc.
