Withdrawal limits relaxed
Addressing the suffocation caused by currency demonetisation RBI announced few more relaxation measures. From now overdraft, current and cash credit account holders can withdraw cash upto Rs. 50,000 in a week. But to avail this opportunity respective accounts must be in operational for more than three months.
According to the note published on RBI website, RBI said "On a review, it has been decided to extend this facility to Overdraft and Cash Credit accounts also. Accordingly, holders of current / overdraft / cash credit accounts, which are operational for the last three months or more, may now withdraw up-to ? 50000 in cash, in a week. This enhanced limit for weekly withdrawal is not applicable for personal overdraft accounts.Such withdrawals may be disbursed predominantly in ? 2000 denomination bank notes."
Similarly, few more easing measures announced for farmers also. Farmers can purchase seeds at Central Govt or State Govt agencies with the banned denomination by showing necessary documents. From tomorrow on wards families can withdraw Rs.2.5 lakh for wedding preparations.
