Facebook explanation on Trump's 'victory'
It was allegated widely that Social Media tycoon Facebook has distributed fake news to help Donald Trump in the cut throat campaign run for several months. Giving strength to such allegations, Speaking to CBS’ 60 Minutes on Sunday Donald Trump acknowledged that Facebook has played key role in securing the victory. “I think that social media has more power than the money they spent,it helped me win all of these races” he added. According to popular website TechCrunch, "Facebook did not build and withhold any News Feed changes based on their potential impact on any one political party". Assessing the situation, on Tuesday Facebook denied all such charges. Stated that "We always work to make News Feed more meaningful and informative, and that includes examining the quality and accuracy of items shared, such as click bait, spam and hoaxes". The onus of responsibility lies with FB to prove its innocence. Otherwise trust deficit would make serious impact on its credibility.
