Break open stocks if traders hoard essentials: Etala tells people
Hyderabad, Nov.13: Asserting there was no shortage of Salt stocks in the State, Civil Supplies & Finance Minister Etala Rajender today appealed to the people not to hesitate to break open the stocks if shop-owners try to loot the people in the wake of panic and confusion created after demonetization by the Centre.
The minister suggested to the people to break open the stocks and give information to the government for serous action. This is only misinformation campaign being carried out by some vested interests to add to the woes of the people gripped in the confusion after scrapping of big currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000. The State Government will take stringent action against such campaigners and illegal hoarders of essential commodities, including salt, rice, dal and others, he warned. The Union minister himself has said there was no shortage of salt in the country and the people should not get panicked.
The Minister also got furious at the misinformation campaigners for trying to misguide and confuse the people. As the people are suffering from the shortage of currency notes in the wake of scrapping of big notes, there might be some vested interests trying to cash in on the situation, he said. However, the people need not worry as there was adequate stocks in the State, he stated.
