CM KCR cancels Cabinet meet to monitor rains
Hyderabad, Sept.25: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today cancelled the Cabinet meeting scheduled to be held on Monday as the State has been experiencing heavy rains and floods. The Chief Minister directed the ministers and party leaders to stay put in their home districts and attend to the needs of people. “The ministers should coordinate with district officials to monitor the situation arising out of the rains and floods”, he said, adding that “The river Godavari is in spate due to the floods and the Collectors and Superintendents of Police of Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, and Khammam should remain alerted”. It may be mentioned here that the Chief Minister expressed happiness over 25,000 out of 46,000 lakes are filled to capacity and rest are filled up to 80 per cent to 90 per cent.
