Undavalli Wrote a ‘Fabricated Story’ on division of united AP : Jaipal Reddy

Hyderabad, Sept. 21: Describing Rajahmundry former MP Undavalli Arun Kumar’s ‘Vibhajana Katha’ (Division Story) as a ‘Kattu Katha’ Fabricated Story), former Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy alleged that Undavalli wrote hypothetical issues in his book. It may be recalled that Undavalli wrote a book in the name of ‘Vibhajana Katha’ and released the same recently. Justice Chalameshwar released the book in a program held at Somajiguda Press Club recently. In his book, Undavalli made some remarks against S Jaipal Reddy. Jaipal Reddy reacted on the remarks today. Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Wednesday along with former MPs Madhu Yashki Goud, Suresh Shetkar and Balaram Naik, Jaipal Reddy reacted on the remarks and alleged that Undavalli wrote a fable story on the discussion held at Speaker’s Chamber during Telangana Bill introduction in the Parliament. He said that the opposition leader in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj assured that the BJP would extend its support to the Telangana Bill if it was introduced. The Bill was passed in the Parliament as per rules and regulations. Making it clear that he didn’t advise to anybody to stop the live telecast of the House proceedings, Jaipal Reddy said that perhaps the live telecast was stopped due to pepper spray incident. Refuting allegations made against him, Jaipal Reddy thanked Undavalli for writing in a great manner about him. “But Undavalli wrote an imaginary story on the discussion held at Speaker’s Chamber. How could he write baseless and meaning less imaginary story? Undavalli wrote the hypothetical story with the hopelessness and bleakness for realizing the demand of separate Telangana state”, he said. Jaipal Reddy said that Undavalli wrote in his book that the Telangana MPs and Jaipal Reddy played a pivotal role in the division of the state. “Yes…we played a constructive role. Ponnam Prabhakar requested the BJP floor leader Sushma Swaraj touching her feet on February 28, 2014 in Parliament. Then Sushma came to Speaker’s Chamber and discussed with me in the presence of Speaker”, he said. “We knew what happened in the Speaker’s Chamber. We were spectators. Sushma told us that she would extend her support to the Telangana Bill as a floor leader. But Speaker asked us that how it is possible to introduce the Bill as the House is not in order. I convinced the Speaker and urged her to introduce the Telangana Bill in the House as Majority of members are present in the House”, Jaipal recalled. There was a rule that the members could express their opinion from their position where they sat when the situation was not in a position to conduct the voting, he pointed out and said that Sushma Swaraj and other BJP leaders including LK Advani got up along with Congress MPs when the Bill was introduced in the House. Undavalli doesn’t know as to what happened in the Speaker’s Chamber on the day the Telangana Bill was introduced in the House, he said asked Undavalli whether he had any ‘Divya Drishti’ (divine look) to write in by imagining the issue. Suggesting Undavalli to write the book as a spectator, Jaipal questioned Undavalli as how could he write the book imagining the things in his own way?. “The Bill is passed in the Lok Sabha as per Constitution. The Bill is passed as per rules. We will win the case in Supreme Court. The Case is still pending in the Supreme Court”, he said. Stating that Justice Chalameshwar was his friend for the last 30 years, Jaipal asked as for how could he make the comment on the book as the case was still in the Supreme Court. Responding to a question, Jaipal said that the present Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao didn’t know anything as to what happened in the Speaker’s Chamber. “There was an impasse in the House still the Speaker made a statement on the Bill. But Undavalli used the word ‘Conspiracy’ in his book. We never gave priority on who becomes Chief Minister of the state. We felt that the creation of Telangana state is important. Undavalli wrote sarcastically on touching the feet of Sushma Swaraj by Ponnam Prabhakar. I never suggested any body to stop the live telecast of the House proceedings”, he said pointing out that Undavalli and some other the then Andhra MPs got the feed of the proceedings through RTI Act.
