Corrupt official's family resorts to suicide pact

The family comprising wife and daughter of Gen BK Bansal, Additional Director of Corporate Affairs, who was arrested by the CBI a couple of days ago in a case of corruption, had committed suicide following the trauma and stigma of corruption. Bansal was arrested on July 16 while accepting Rs 9 lakh bribe from a corporate. The CBI had raided six places owned by the official, where they found illegal money of Rs 54 lakhs. Because of corruption stigma, the wife and daughter entered a suicide pact. The suicide pact created a sensation in Delhi. The police have sent the bodies for a post-mortem examination. Details of the suicide pact are awaited.
