College-seeking students halt CM's convoy

While Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had enthusiastically started the Haritha Haram afforestation programme in great earnest, he was shocked by students at Chityal blocking his convoy, demanding a degree college in their town. The police had to resort to a mild lathicharge to disperse the students. They also arrested some 20 students. The Chief Minister had planted a sapling at Chotuppal market yard, inaugurating the programme in the State. Normally a pilot car goes ahead of the Chief Minister's convoy. The convoy goes at a high speed. But in towns the cars cannot afford the same speed. This enabled the students to stop the convoy, and they made their point.
