Chiranjeevi faults Chandrababu on Mudragada’s arrest

Hyderabad, June 11: Former Union Minister and Congress leader K Chiranjeevi, a Kapu leader himself, today criticized the Andhra Pradesh Government for dealing in a harsh manner in arresting Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham for taking up the hunger strike. In a press note here on Saturday, Chiranjeevi condemned the way of the police taking Padmanabham into custody. He accused the Chandrababu Naidu Government of adopting arm-twisting tactics and misbehaving with the Kapus. Mudragada’s hunger strike seeking implementation of TD manifesto for Kapus and Balijas is nothing wrong, he noted. Stating that no one would support the Tuni Rail incident, which should be dealt with seriously, he flayed the highhandedness of the police with the family members of Kapu leader. Chiranjeevi further fumed at the TD Government for retaliating against the Kapus and diverting the key issues and turned dictatorial by closing some news channels from telecasting the related news is against democracy he bemoaned. The Chandrababu Government miserably failed to address the sensitive Kapu row which took a new turn. Chandrababu himself said that no persons from Godavari districts participated in Tuni incident and attributed it to the handiwork of those from Rayalaseema district he said. Chiranjeevi also asked the TD Government to abstain from harming the interests of Kapus in the state.
