Although strange, Kodandaram to support Telangana lawyers fully
While supporting the Telangana lawyers in their demand for a split of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, Political JAC convenor Prof Kodandaram Reddy said on Wednesday that it was strange that lawyers should fight for justice in the streets. Whatever he meant by the jibe, he said after the completion of the steering committee meeting of the TJAC that they would be supporting the Telangana lawyers' agitation comprehensively. Kodandaram demanded that the TRS government implement all the points made by it in its manifesto. Stating that many suggestions were made at the steering committee, he said the land acquisition being done in the State for the various projects was not proper. A meeting would be arranged to discuss the problems of the people losing their lands under the Mallannasagar project. He said they would fight against open-cast mining. The problems of the universities in the State would be discussed centred round Osmania and a conference would be organised. Prof Kodandaram brushed aside criticism by TRS ministers, saying he is one to teach and not to take instruction from political leaders.
