Necklace Road Flag torn up by winds, replaced
The 300-feet-high National Tricolour, hoisted in connection with the completion of 2 years of TRS rule in Telangana, was torn by heavy winds on the fifth day on Necklace Road. The torn flag was removed and replaced by a new one by officials.
While the flag was flying high, the people admired the idea. But once it was torn by inclement weather, there have been complaints that not good material was used in designing the flag.
The officials on their part said they were already prepared for such contingencies. They in fact had five flags ready.
Whatever the criticism, the idea and choice of location of such a high and mighty flag is ennobling.
