Jagan has face-to-face with farmers in Kadiri

While there was tension in the air at Kadiri with the TDP followers opposing the Jagan tour of the district, the YCP leader continued his Rythu Bharosa yatra in Anantpur and talked with the farmers face-to-face on their problems. The farmers' problems were many in the area. In the face-to-face, they told Jagan that they had spent lakhs of rupes on digging borewells and for electrifying them, but the government was offering only Rs 1 lakh as compensation. At SP Kunta, the farmers said a 1000 acres were acquired by the government for setting up a solar power plant, but no compensaiton had been given to them. A compensation of Rs 3.25 lakhs was supposed to be given to them, but the money was not forthcoming. If the compensation was paid after years, it would be pointless. They demanded immediate payment. The acquired land had been fenced up, but it was lying waste. There was no move to set up any industry there either. The small farmers said they were getting 40 bags per acre as yield such as chana. Now the land had been acquired and there was no compensation. Assigned lands had also been taken away. Jagan assured them that if his party was to come to power, it would immediately release cheques to all the farmers.
