Scribes condemn Raja Narasimha outburst

The Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) on Friday condemned the intemperate and abusive outburst of the former Deputy Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Raja Narasimha against media persons and attack by his supporters on them in Medak district. The incident occurred on Wednesday. In a statement, APUWJ President Nalli Dharma Rao and General Secretary I V Subba Rao said Raja Narasimha, who served as Deputy Chief Minister in the last Congress government in the combined state, had abused reporters who went to cover his program in a village in Medak district because there was poor attendance of pressmen. When the journalists protested against his outburst, he egged on his supporters to attack them. The journalists lodged a case in a police station against Raja Narasimha and some his supporters for verbal and physical attack. Terming the action of the senior Congress leader as unbecoming and desperate, APUWJ demanded action against him and his supporters. They called on the TPCC President Uttam Kumar Reddy to take disciplinary action against Raja Narasimha.
