Girls top AP EAMCET medical stream results

Girls got the top ranks in the EAMCET medical stream results declared this afternoon by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. Three of the first four ranks were bagged by girls. Hemalatha topped the list with 156 marks, followed by Yagnapriya third rank and Neha fourth rank. The second rank went to Satwik Reddy with 155 marks. Releasing the results at his camp office, Chandrababu said the Central Ordinance deferring the NEET had given a boost to the students who were rather confused about their education. The ministers who were there on the occasion included Ganta Srinivas Rao and Kamineni Srinivas. Compulsory all-India examinations were ruled by the Supreme Court for higher medical education in order to curb high fees going up to Rs 1.5 crore per MD seat. But several State governments, including the Telugu States, wanted no Central entrance for medical seats. The Central government, therefore, promulgated an ordinance deferring the NEET. According to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, leaders and MPs, who double up as entrepreneurs in the private medical education sector, were behind the postponement of the entrance exams.
