KCR going in for Cabinet expansion

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday suddenly sought an appointment with Governor ESL Narsimhan, raising speculation that he is going for a cabinet expansion. Although the Chief Minister meeting the Governor is a routine and almost a daily affair at one function or the other, the seeking of appointment led to immediate speculation. Not only that, a Telangana cabinet exapansion is due owing to many TDP MLAs joining the ruling TRS. KCR is believed to be keen on marking his 2 years in office with something substantial. As part of it, he wants to take up the ministry expansion. First, the MLAs who deserted the TDP will have to be found suitable work. Second, there is no woman minister in the Cabinet, which has been pointed out several times. Third, the ministers who are underperforming will have to share responsibility with others. The Chief Minister is understood to have consulted his close associates and party seniors in this regard and then decided on Cabinet expansion.
