Venkaiah Naidu exposes Congress dubious nature on Special Status for AP

The dubious nature of the Congress in the AP Reorganisation Act was exposed by Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday when he pointed out in the Lok Sabha that there was no mention of Special Category Status in the Act. While the leaders have all along been talking about Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh, the fact that SCS was missing from the Act exposed the dubious nature of the Congress-led UPA government. The UPA leaders had all along been talking about SCS with a view to winning back popularity in AP for their survival. CM Ramesh, TDP MP, vociferously was saying in the Rajya Sabha that the Congress demand of SCS was a `drama.' The duplicity of the Congress was duly exposed by Venkaiah Naidu even as the Congress benches were stunned into silence that their game was exposed. Reacting to senior Congress leader Mallikharjuna Kharge on SCS, Venkaiah Naidu said the National Democratic Alliance was continually monitoring the development of AP State. He listed the funds for the various projects. With much fanfare, the Congress took up the case for SCS in both the Houses of Parliament. Jyotiraditya Scindia in the Lok Sabha and Ghulam Nabi Azad in the Rajya Sabha sought SCS for AP on Tuesday. But the clarification by Venkaiah Naidu stunned the Congress into silence. While gobbling up funds raised from AP all along, the Congress cheated the State even in the matter of the AP Reorganisation Act enacted by its own UPA government, deleting the words Special Category Status for Andhra pradesh as given in the Bill.
