BAC allots 7 hours for no-trust move on Babu Govt
While the Andhra Pradesh Assembly on Monday allotted 7 hours for the discussion on the No-Confidence Motion against the Chandrababu Naidu government tabled by the YCP, the opposition party had demanded a full day's discussion on the subject. Gadikota Srikant Reddy, YCP, said his party argued before the Business Advisory Committee of the House that a 7-hour discussion was insufficient. He had demanded an entire day for the discussion. However, the ruling TDP had not agreed to their proposal, and insisted on 7-hour discussion and voting. Earlier, Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad had okayed the No-Confidence Motion, but left it to the BAC to fix the time. The BAC, which met, sought an immediate discussion on the no-trust move. Government Chief Whip Kalva Srinivasulu had earlier found fault with the YCP move, stating it would erode budget discussions.
