T Development possible to KCR only: KTR

State IT Minister K. Taraka Ramarao on Thursday stated that `development is possible to only one man in Telangana, and that is KCR.' KTR is apparently stating the obvious. It is only apparently because the TRS is winning the elections, but winning elections is not development. Development is a long-term goal. KTR, who spearheaded the ruling TRS success in the GHMC elections, is now doing the same errand in Khammam. KTR rightly said development was possible only under KCR in Telangana. He could mobilize the entire region for years before winning the 2014 assembly elections. The parameters for development are, however, different. Immediate success had been achieved in regard to water and electricity supply in Hyderabad. This is a welcome change as compared to previous governments. If the supply is sustained this summer also, it would be some development. Farmers' suicides continue to keep happening. The government needs to tackle the problem. There is no water in the Godavari downstream of Babli. This is another problematic area. In the long-term, the KCR government will hopefully tackle these and other problems facing the State to bring about true development.
