HC makes helmet-wearing compulsory for T riders

The Hyderabad High Court has made helmet-wearing compulsory for two-wheeler riders in Telangana. Dealing with a relevant matter, the court said helmet-wearing should be made compulsory. The court sought to know from the authorites why the helmet-wearing rule was not being strictly followed. The Attorney-General of the State explained that the helmet rule was not being strictly followed in the wake of the chain-snatching incidents. The court was not impressed. The court directed that there should be a fine for not wearing helmets. The fine should be such that it was more than the price of a helmet.
