CM spends Rs.7-cr for Chandiyagam
National media has reported that Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao would be spending Rs.7 crore for the the 5-day Chandiyagam worship ending on December 27. The media are coming out with other interesting details related to the worship at Yerrvalli in Medak district. The Chief Minister has claimed that he is not using even a paisa of public money in the worship, for which his friends and wellwishers are generously coming forward, the media report. Dwelling on these and other details, the media further reported that farmers as such were not happy with such high-scale ritual. A farmer, Nalla Krishnaiah, who lived hardly 10 km from Erravalli, had committed suicde in the recent spate of farmers' suicides because he had no funds to clear debts. His son studying 9th class, Raju, is shown as appealing to the Chief Minister that the likes of his family should be financially protected. "Otherwise who would come to our aid?" the boy's mother is shown as pleading. Raju had already given up studies.
