2 YCP members suspended for 2 days: Call Money racket

The Call Money racket expectedly disrupted the proceedings in the State Assembly on the opening day of the Winter Session and led to the suspension of two YSRCP members. The members, Dadisetty Ramalingeswar Rao, alias Raja (Tuni), and Sivaprasad Reddy (Proddatur) were suspended for two days specifically for obstructing the live telecast of the proceedings by blocking the cameras. Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad had told them not to block the cameras, but the members did not relent. Minister for Assembly affairs Yaamala Ramakrishnudu moved a motion to suspend the members for a day. However, taking into account the views of the various mebers, the Speaker suspended them for two days instead. As the House met, the YCP members demanded a discussion on the Call Money racket. An adjournment motion in this regard was rejected by the Speaker. Owing to the rejection, the YCP members surrounded the Speaker's podium. Twice the House had to be adjourned.
