AP must get special status: Venkaiah Naidu

Hyderabad, Nov 27: Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu today said Andhra Pradesh must get special status. Speaking in the Lok Sabha this morning, the minister said since AP is a revenue-deficit state it should be given the special status. He then said that people believe that the state will develop faster only if AP is given the special status. Stating that Niti Aayog was examining the issue of special status to AP, Venkaiah Naidu said the central government was working towards fulfilling the promises made in the AP Reorganisation Act. H then said several states including a developed state like Punjab were demanding a special status.
