YSRCP seeks TDP support on Spl. Status in LS
Hyderabad, Nov 25: Taking objection to the decisions taken by TDP Parliamentary Party meeting, which did not mention anything about special status and other vital issues of the state, YSR Congress has demanded that the TDP contingent should join issue when the Party raises the issues in the ensuing Winter Session. "There is neither any specific direction nor strong agenda that was revealed in the TDPPP meeting while our party has resolved to raise the special status to the state among other issues. We demand that the TDP should support us when the issues of the state are raised by us in the Parliament," party senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana told media here on Wednesday. "Our Party has decided to raise the issue of special status besides, increasing the MSP to farmers and the procurement policy in favour of the farmers besides adequate aid to farmers who were hit by floods and severe drought as well," Botsa said. TDP on the other hand seems not to have discussed the issues of state interest as it has many skeletons in the cupboard as irregularities in many projects have come out in the open with TDP minister and an MP trading charges on funds to irrigation projects, he said. Pattiseema project was completed in a hurry and is ridden with corruption charges while the Polavaram project did not move an inch due to the apathy of the State government, he added. The TDP Parliamentarians seem to be content with special package but this should not be what was already promised in the Act during the division of the State. Any thing over and above what was assured in the Act is welcome, he said. But special status is a must for development of the state and we will raise the issue and TDP should support us in the Parliament, he said.
