Villagers told to give up lands or face land acquisition act: Jt Collector

Hyderabad, Nov 7: Guntur Joint Collector Sridhar today told the villagers, who were refusing to give up their lands for the development of the new capital city, that the government would invoke the land acquisition act to take away their lands if they continue to be stubborn on this issue. Sridhar made this statement during an interaction with those farmers who are still holding on to their lands and protesting against the land pooling process for Amaravati. The Joint collector also explained the benefits to the farmers after the development of the new capital city. It may be recalled that the government had already collected 33,000 acres of land for Amaravati.
