Dasari throws punches at Telugu film, audio release functions

Hyderabad, Nov 7: Prominent film director Dasari Narayana Rao, who has of late been making stinging comments on select film families, said the film release and audio launch functions in the Telugu industry have turned out to be like a jatara (mela). Speaking to media on Friday, Dasari questioned the purpose of organising dance sequences during launch events. "For whom are they dancing we don't know," he added. He then slammed the idea of inviting the entire crew and cast of the movie onto the stage. "When one senior person is talking, the rest of the people on the stage stand. And when a junior person is talking, all senior persons stand behind him with folded hands. Why this nonsense? What is the function all about?" he asked. Dasari said even in international award functions like Oscar only one person gives award and other one accepts it. He said he stopped going to such functions because of this nonsense.
