Telugu scientist gets Bhatnagar Award
Hyderabad, Sep 27: Telugu scientist D Srinivasa Reddy is among the 11 young scientists who have been selected for the prestigious Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award this year. Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award is the highest award given to the scientists below 45 years of age every year for outstanding contribution in the fields of science and technology in the country. Srinivasa Reddy was selected for the award in the field of Chemical Sciences. He works at Central Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) National Chemical Laboratory in Pune. ICRISAT scientist Rajeev Kumar Varshane was selected for the award in the category of Biological Sciences. Similarly, GS Ramachandran Gold Medal was presented to CCMB scientist Rajan Shankarnarayanan. Union Minister Harshavardhan and Sujana Chowdary presented the awards at a programme held in Delhi yesterday.
