HC warns of CBI inquiry into Agri Gold scam
Hyderabad, Sep 03: The Hyderabad High Court today expressed displeasure over the tardy pace of probe into the Agri Gold scam. The court began hearing in a petition filed by the company seeking a direction to auction its properties. The High Court warned that it would order a CBI inquiry if the government fails to protect the interests of investors. The court ordered the government to provide complete information on Agri Gold properties and its board of directors. The High Court expressed doubts over the integrity of Agri Gold and directed the government to constitute a special agency to sell the properties of the company to repay money to the investors. The court accorded permission to sell 14 properties and asked the officials to sell the remaining 154 properties to repay money to investors. The court posted the matter for next hearing on Monday and summoned the Investigation Officer of the case.
