IIT-Tirupati classes from tomorrow

Tirupati, Aug 06: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Tirupati will begin classes from Friday. Of the seven new IITs proposed in the country this year, Tirupati and Palakkad IITs have become operational. Tirupati-IIT was inaugurated yesterday. Temporarily classes would be conducted on the premises of Krishna Teja Educational Institutions. HRD Minister Ganta Srinivas Rao commended the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for taking steps to set up the institute within a year after it was announced. He said that seven national institutions will start functioning in the state this year. IT Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy, Forest Minister Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy, students and others were present. Union HRD Minister Smrithi Irani delivered her address through video conference.
