AP seeks 10 tmc of potable water from Sagar
Hyderabad, July 31: The Andhra Pradesh government has urged the Krishna River Water Management Board to supply 10 tmc of water from Nagarjunsagar Project (NSP) to cater to drinking water needs of people in Prakasam and Guntur districts and tail end areas of NSP Left and Right canals. Stating this at a press conference in Vijayawada, Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said that top priority would be accorded to address drinking water needs. He said that a total of 456.9 tmc of Godavari river water had gone waste into the sea since June 1. He said that Pattiseema project was undertaken to divert Godavari flood water to Krishna river to meet the irrigation needs in Krishna delta and Rayalaseema.
