Land grabbers attack revenue staff
Guntur/Hyderabad, July 27: Even before the public could forget the alleged attacks of ruling party leaders on Tehsildars Narayanamma and Vanajakshi of Chinna Gottigallu (Chittoor) and Musunur (Krishna) respectively, another similar attack has come to light. Land grabbers attacked a VRO and his staff in Mangalagiri of Guntur district on Sunday. The government earlier had issued pattas for 65 cents of land to Bommu Umamaheswar Reddy and another two persons in survey number 366 beside the national highway near Atmakur. But the same land was recorded as waste land. A few people created fake documents and tried to encroach the 20 cents of land. Following the complaint of the land owners, police warned the encroachers not to occupy the land before the land issue was settled. However, the land grabbers, with the alleged support of ruling party leaders, started construction in the said site. On the instructions of the local Tehsildar, VRO Srinivas Rao and VRA Chalapathi Rao went to the land site and told the persons present there to stop construction work. Then, six persons attacked the officials. Protesting against this attack, VRAs and VROs union leaders said they will boycott their duties in the district on Monday.
