Five held for human sacrifice

Kathmandu(Nepal), July 26: In a sensational case, the police arrested five persons for allegedly sacrificing a 10-year boy at Kudiya village in Nawalparasi district in Nepal. The father of a sick man had confessed to the killing to drive away evil spirit from his ailing son. He along with four others lured the boy to outskirts of the village by offering biscuits and promising him to pay money. They then performed rituals, slit the throat of the boy with a knife and dumped the body in a bush. Many people in Nepal sacrifice animals to appease gods. Illiteracy is one of the main reason for superstitions.
