4 new pvt medical colleges in AP, TS soon

Hyderabad, July 26: Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States would be getting four more private medical colleges soon. The applications of these colleges were already under the scrutiny of these two governments. Three of the new colleges would be established in AP while one college would be set up in Telangana. Directorate of Medical Education sources said that two colleges got permission while that of the remaining two was still in proposal stage. The managements of the four colleges have applied for a strength, not less than 150 MBBS seats. At present, a total of 1,900 MBBS seats in private medical colleges in AP. With the new colleges, the seat strength may increase to 350 to 450. GVK foundation, which is organising 108 ambulance services applied to the government for establishing two medical colleges in AP - one at Medchal and another in Nellore. It also applied two medical colleges in Telangana also. Mansas Educational Trust came forward to establish medical college in Vizianagaram.
