Zero admissions in 50 AP engineering colleges

Hyderabad, July 17: The engineering aspirants in Andhra Pradesh are not evincing interest to join colleges having poor infrastructure facilities. After the second phase of Eamcet engineering seat allocation, 50 colleges in the state witnessed zero admissions under convener quota. In these 50 colleges, not a single student took admission in the first year. The number of colleges that secured 1 to 5 admissions were seven after first counselling and rose to 65 after second phase. In the first phase, admissions were less than 100 in 109 colleges and the number rose to 222. The 222 colleges that secured less than 100 admissions will face financial crisis because it will be difficult to run the courses if the admissions are less than 200 in a college. The fate of 186 engineering colleges which secured less than 50 admissions is no different. In the second phase 38, 220 student changed options and priorities and this changed the fate of several colleges.
