CPI leaders Tammineni, Chada arrested

Hyderabad, July 17: The police have arrested CPI leaders Tammineni Veerabhadram, Chada Venkat Reddy and others on Friday. The Left parties gave a call for Telangana bandh today, demanding solution to the demands of GHMC contract and outsourcing workers. They decided to go on with the bandh despite Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's announcement yesterday about the hike in the salaries of the workers. As part of the bandh, CPI leaders staged a dharna at Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station on Friday morning. Speaking on the occasion, Tammineni and Chada lashed out at the government that it was playing with the lives of the workers. They demanded salary hike for all the workers and warned of continuing the protest till their demands were solved.
