10 burnt alive in fire at UP hotel

Pratapgarh, June 19: Ten persons were burnt alive and 14 others injured seriously when fire broke out in Aryan Hotel at Babaganj of Pratapgarh district in Uttar Pradesh today. The injured were shifted to hospitals in Babaganj and Allahabad. The condition of seven injured persons was stated to be serious. According to locals, the fire broke out at 5 am this morning. Fire personnel immediately rushed to the spot and doused flames. The UP government has announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to family members of those killed and Rs 50,000 to the seriously injured in the incident. Preliminary investigations revealed that electricity short circuit was the reason for the accident.
