Heavy rain forecast for TS, AP

Hyderabad, June 7 : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast heavy rains in the next 24 hours in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. As per the latest IMD bulletin, monsoon will cover both the Telugu states by Monday. Officials said that conditions are favourable for the spread of monsoon. Temperatures will also come down due to the impact of monsoon. Heavy rains accompanied with gales lashed parts of Nalgonda, Warangal and Karimnagar districts on Sunday. Monsoon plays a key role in Indian economy. As India is primarily an agrarian nation and 70 per cent of Indians depend on agriculture for their livelihood, it banks heavily on good monsoons and they are vital for farm output and economic growth in the country.
