RCB Clinch WPL 2026 Title with Record Breaking Chase; Mandhana’s Heroics Stun Delhi Capitals

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have been crowned champions of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 after a thrilling final against Delhi Capitals. In a high-stakes encounter held in Vadodara, RCB chased down a massive target of 204 runs with six wickets in hand and two balls to spare, etching their names in the record books for the highest-ever successful run-chase in the tournament's history.

Mandhana and Voll Lead the Charge

The pursuit of 204 started on a rocky note as opener Grace Harris (9) fell early. However, Captain Smriti Mandhana and Georgia Voll turned the game on its head with a sensational 165-run partnership for the second wicket. Mandhana was in a "murderous" mood, smashing 87 runs off just 41 balls, including 12 boundaries and 3 sixes.

Voll provided excellent support, playing a responsible yet aggressive knock of 79 off 54 balls (14 fours). Their record-breaking stand effectively took the game away from the Delhi bowlers.

Late Drama and a Pacy Finish

As victory seemed certain, RCB faced a sudden hiccup, losing Voll, Richa Ghosh (6), and finally Mandhana just short of her century. With the match heading toward a tense finish, Nadine de Klerk (7)* and Radha Yadav (12)* held their nerves. Radha Yadav sealed the win in style by hitting a boundary in the final over, sparking wild celebrations in the RCB camp. For Delhi, Chinelle Henry was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets.

Delhi’s Valiant Total

Earlier, after being put in to bat, Delhi Capitals posted a formidable 203/4 in their 20 over quota. Captain Jemimah Rodrigues led from the front with a classy 57 off 37 balls, while Laura Wolvaardt contributed a quickfire 44. Useful contributions from Lizelle Lee (37) and a late blitz by Chinelle Henry (35* off 15 balls) pushed Delhi past the 200-mark. Among RCB bowlers, Lauren Bell was exceptionally disciplined, conceding only 19 runs in her 4 overs.

A Historic Second Title: This marks RCB’s second WPL trophy, following their maiden win in 2024. Interestingly, both titles came after defeating Delhi Capitals in the final, leaving the Capitals as runners-up for the fourth consecutive time.
