Jaya chose city constituency for by-poll as she is unwell
Chennai, May 19, 2015: AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa seems to be unwell with tremendous mental pressure in the backdrop of the political ups and downs she had experienced due to the court case against her in Karnataka High Court that gave verdict in her favour in the first week of May. Reports said that she had accordingly chosen the RK Nagar constituency in the Chennai city to contest the by election to get reelected herself to the assembly. In fact, she never contested from a city constituency in the past having chosen the outside constituencies all the six times she faced elections. She contested six times from Kannoore, Andipatti, Srirangam and Parchor and lost once in the Parchor constituency winning five times in the other three constituencies. However, this time, Jayalalithaa feels exhausted and is in no mood to take up campaign for her by-election in a long distance constituency out side Chennai. Making long distance trips for campaigning gives her fatigue too and she doesn't want to strain herself for campaigning. Hence she has decided to contest from a city constituency following which AIADMK MLA from RK Nagar had resigned. Already Election Commission was informed that the RK Nagar seat had fallen vacant. At a time when reports are making the rounds that Karnataka Government may approach Supreme Court challenging the verdict of the single-judge bench that went in her favour, Jayalalithaa will find it easy to campaign for the by election in the city.
