Venkaiah asks political parties not to politicise special status issue
New Delhi, May 7, 2015: Union Urban Development Minister M.Venkaiah Naidu asked political parties of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday not to politicise the issue of special status for the state. "The special status issue is very sensitive. Kindly don't politicise it," he asked the AP political parties at a press meet here. The AP people have a right to demand special status to the state, he asserted , adding that political parties have no right to come out with such a demand. He said we would not have faced problems today on granting special status to AP if the the then UPA Government had provided statutory status to the issue. Venkaiah Naidu said the Centre was committed to divide the High Court and constitute two separate High Courts for the two Telugu states.
