Mountaineer Mastan Babu's body handed over to family, funeral on Saturday

AP Govt announces state funeral for Malli Mastan Babu

Chennai,April 24, 2015:The body of ace mountaineer Malli Mastan Babu, which was flown here by a special flight, was handed over to his family members. They all left for his native place Ganhi Jana Sangham near Sangham in Nellore district by road. The final rites will be held tomorrow at Gandhi Jana Sangham with full state honours. District Administration has already made arrangements to accord the departed soul full official honours. Earlier, the body was flown to Delhi and from there to Chennai at the Government initiative. Malli Mastan Babu died during an expedition in the Andes mountains in the Argentina-Chile boarder a few days ago. Union Minister M.Venkaiah Naidu and AP Minister Ravela Kishore Babu will attend the funeral as Government representatives.
