NTR National award for story writer Kalipatnam Rama Rao

Hyderabad, April 21, 2015: Well known story writer Kalipatnam Rama Rao was selected for the NTR National Award -2015. The award will be presented to him on NTR Jayanti on May 28 at a special programme. A letter of appreciation and a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh will be given to Rama Rao as part of the award. Well known to Telugu people as 'Kara' Mastaru, Kalipatnam Rama Rao was born on Nov 9, 1924 in Srikakulam. A teacher by profession, Rama Rao was awarded the Kendra Sahitya Academy in 1995 in recognition of his writings. He won the award for his story 'Yagnam' written in 1966. He retired as head master of Government elementary school and is presently running 'Katha Nilayam' in Srikakulam.
