Supreme Court Clears the Way for Mega DSC in Andhra Pradesh
The uncertainty surrounding the schedule of teacher recruitment examinations in Andhra Pradesh has come to an end. The Supreme Court of India has clarified that the District Selection Committee (DSC) examination and the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) will proceed as originally scheduled. On Friday, the apex court dismissed a petition filed by several candidates seeking to postpone these examinations.
According to the details, six candidates had approached the Supreme Court requesting a deferment of the DSC and TET schedules in Andhra Pradesh. The bench led by Justice Dipankar Datta reviewed the petition and found no substantial grounds in the arguments raised by the petitioners. Consequently, the court dismissed the petition. The bench further advised that if the petitioners face any specific issues, they may approach the High Court for resolution.
In its ruling, the Supreme Court confirmed that the schedules already announced by the state government for the DSC and TET examinations will remain unchanged and must be implemented accordingly.
It may be recalled that the School Education Department of Andhra Pradesh issued a notification on April 20 to fill a total of 16,347 teacher posts. As per this notification, the DSC examinations will be conducted from June 6 to July 6 in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format. With the Supreme Court’s latest judgment, the path has been cleared for the smooth conduct of these examinations.
