Tragedy struck as a temple devoted to Lord Shiva in Himachal Pradesh's capital collapsed on Monday due to heavy rainfall, resulting in nine fatalities, according to officials. Situated in Summer Hill, the temple's collapse occurred while approximately 25-30 individuals were within its premises. While five individuals were successfully rescued, a police official said. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu confirmed the death toll, stating that nine bodies have been recovered thus far. "The local authorities are actively engaged in debris removal to locate and rescue any individuals who might still be trapped," he conveyed in an official statement.
