Vaibhav Taneja, an individual of Indian origin, has been designated as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Tesla Inc., taking over from Zachary Kirkhorn, who resigned on August 4 after serving the company for 13 years. In an official statement, Tesla revealed that the 45-year-old Taneja will assume the CFO role in addition to his existing position as Chief Accounting Officer (CAO). Taneja's association with Tesla includes his prior role as Corporate Controller since 2018, as well as his tenure as Assistant Corporate Controller from February 2017 to May 2018. Before his appointment at Tesla, Taneja held various financial and accounting positions at SolarCity Corporation from March 2016. His professional journey also includes employment at PricewaterhouseCoopers in both India and the United States from 1999 to 2016. Conversely, Zachary Kirkhorn, who previously held positions as Master of Coin and CFO at Tesla, stepped down from his role.
