Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's membership in the Indian Parliament has been given back to him. This comes after the Supreme Court stopped his conviction in a criminal case from 2019 that had to do with defamation. The Lok Sabha secretariat sent out a notice that said Rahul Gandhi's disqualification as a Member of Parliament (MP) was taken back. Before this, Rahul Gandhi lost his place as an MP on March 23 because a court in Gujarat found him guilty in a defamation case. This had to do with something he said about the 'Modi surname,' and the court gave him two years in jail. If a lawmaker gets a punishment of two years or more, they lose their place. After getting his place back as an MP, Rahul Gandhi has asked for a house to live in, according to the housing committee. A senior leader from his party, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, has also asked for a bungalow for him.
